Des Moines University Health Professions Advanced Summer Scholars

Des Moines University Health P.A.S.S. program provides undergraduate students with a three-week experience that prepares them to apply for graduate programs in the health professions. Of particular focus are the programs offered at Des Moines University, including Osteopathic Medicine, Podiatry, Physical Therapy, and Physician Assistant studies. 


June 6-26, 2015
FREE - program participation, meals, lodging, transportation
Applications due by February 15th with supporting materials by March 1.

Program includes: 

• Lectures and presentations in four clinical areas
• Hands-on experiences in state-of-the-art facilities, including simulations with life-like medical mannequins and labs to test your casting, suturing, and surgery skills
• Opportunities to shadow doctors and other healthcare providers in the on-campus clinic
• Mock interviews and participant presentations that prepare you for the application process
• Guidance from student mentors and interactions with DMU faculty, students, and staff

 Enrollment is limited to 12 students. Minimum 3.0 GPA recommended. Applications include:

• Health P.A.S.S. application and essay questions
• Official transcripts
• Parents' federal tax returns
• Letters of recommendation
