The
Office of Student Affairs/Diversity at the Medical College of Wisconsin will
again offer our undergraduate summer enrichmentprogram for students from backgrounds that are historically
underrepresented in medicine and biomedical research. The Diversity Summer
Health-related Research Education Program (DSHREP) will give students
an excellent opportunity to explore research in the Milwaukee Metropolitan
area.
DSHREP is a 10-week summer
program supported through an R25 research education grant funded by National
Heart, Lung, Blood Institute (NHLBI), an agency of National Institutes of
Health (NIH). All research is conducted by MCW faculty, focusing on
cardiovascular, hematological, and pulmonary diseases. Interested students
should be available from May 28, 2014 to August 1, 2014. Summer programs are
offered at no cost to students. The application deadline is Saturday,
February 1, 2014 by 5 p.m. CST
