2018-19 Pre-Health Advising Peers

The University of Virginia Career Center seeks highly motivated Pre-Health Advising Peers (PHAPs) to support the Pre-Health Advising Team and educate the UVA community about pre-health advising resources and programming for the 2018-19 academic year.

Application Deadline: February 16th for the 2018-19 Academic Year

The Team of PHAPs supports the UVA Career Center mission by expanding the Career Center's ability to reach pre-health students. PHAPs serve as ambassadors of the Career Center and the Pre-Health Advising Team by promoting pre-health services and resources to the University community. PHAPs will also have the opportunity to learn about career resources while assisting the Career Center with a wide range of projects. While working on these tasks, PHAPs will receive training about and exposure to many different pre-health tools and resources and will be encouraged to utilize this knowledge in their own pre-health preparation and career development.

PHAPs will be expected to work 5 to 8 hours per week from August - May (excluding holidays and breaks). Some evening hours will be required. PHAPs are compensated at $9/hour.

Applicants should be current first, second, and third-year pre-health students who aspire to a career in a clinical health profession (i.e. Dentistry, Medicine, Occupational Therapy, Optometry, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant, Podiatry, Veterinary Medicine.)
