SHPEP is an exciting program that spans the United States. The University of FL is one of 13 recipients in the U.S. of a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation award granting SHPEP status and will be accepting 80 students for its 2nd year May 14th - June 22nd.
This 6-week summer program is free and aims to expand horizons for racially, ethnically, and/or economically/educationally disadvantaged undergraduate students who are US citizens, permanent residents, or with DACA status, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, and will be rising 2nd or 3rd year students as of the start of the program next May. The program is designed to provide exposure to the various healthcare professions, academically enrich, and facilitate career development opportunities.
Interested qualified students with interest in any of the healthcare professions:
- medicine
- physician assistant
- nursing
- dental medicine
- pharmacy
- public health
- physical therapy
- occupational therapy
- veterinary medicine
