Neurology Undergraduate Shadowing Opportunity

Application Registration is now full.

The UVA School of Medicine Student Interest Group in Neurology (SIGN) offers a shadowing program that will allow 10 - 15 undergraduates to shadow Neurologists at UVA this semester.
You must be a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year to be eligible.

Students chosen to participate in the program will:
  • Be matched with a Neurologist based on area of interest and scheduling
  • Shadow once a week in either the morning or afternoon
  • Dress in business casual attire
If selected, students should simply send an email to the Neurologist with whom they are matched to introduce themselves and plan a meeting time and location (likely need to ask for directions) for the first shadowing date. To our current understanding, there is no need for a hospital badge; you can obtain a visitor's pass from the information desk at the hospital upon arrival.

Application is required and capacity to review applications is limited. Read the following instructions carefully:
Up to 50 students may submit an application by RSVPing (click Join Event) to the UVA Neurology Undergraduate Shadowing Application Registration event in your Handshake account. First come, first served.  Upon RSVP, you will receive access to an application due no later than September 10th at 5pm.

If you have specific questions about the application process, contact jgbowers@virginia.edu.
