Enough talk. Time for action. How do I access my new best friend, Handshake?
You can access Handshake via the Career Center website or by going to virginia.joinhandshake.com.
1. When you log in, you will be prompted to complete your profile. This is very important! Because Handshake is customized to your preferences, an incomplete profile means an incomplete system. It means you won't receive tailored recommendations and your searches might be incomplete.
*When asked to indicate your career interests, make sure to select the Pre-Health option in order to receive the Pre-Health Pulse newsletter and other relevant updates.
2. You can schedule appointments. Just as in CAVLink, you will be able to book appointments online (some exclusions apply - alumni & mock interviews). You can also always call our office at 434-924-8900 during business hours (Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm) to make an appointment.
The Career Center is open during the summer and we are taking appointments. You can schedule pre-health appointments via Handshake or by phone now.
