University of Colorado School of Medicine Pre-Med Global, Emergency, and Wilderness Medicine Classes

The University of Colorado School of Medicine proudly announces its schedule of 2015 Pre-Med Global, Emergency, and Wilderness Medicine classes. The intense and powerful learning experiences are taught by an A-team of passionate physicians and medical school faculty, eager to share their craft with undergrad students.  The classes are aimed at juniors and senior pre-med and other health focused (nursing, PA, dental, etc.) students but open to any college students or recent grads.

Free Global Health MOOC: Starting later this month, our FREE six week Global Health Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) will be available for registration.  Optional, hands-on three-day Global Health Advanced First Aid classes compliment the didactic portion. Pre-Med Emergency & Wilderness Medicine Classes – Colorado: Our flagship two-week Denver and Rockies based program.  A week of lectures and labs at the medical school and hospital, with ER shadowing, EMS ride-alongs, and CPR certification, followed by wilderness medicine at a camp high in the Rockies.  Optional Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification.  Three need-based full ride scholarships offered for each section.  More info at http://www.coloradowm.org/undergraduatecourses.html

Spring Break Pre-Med Wilderness & Emergency Medicine Classes – Nicaragua: Held at a rustic, island eco-lodge.  Focus on wilderness, emergency, and tropical medicine.  Jungle hikes, kayaking, mountain biking, natural history tours.  Earn optional Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification.
