Volunteer Opportunity with the Virginia Wellness Initiative

Free health screening at the Charlottesville African American Cultural Arts Festival
Saturday, July 25th, 2015 at Booker T. Washington Park

The Virginia Wellness Initiative is a student-run organization at the UVA SOM that organizes free community health screenings around Charlottesville. We are looking for undergraduate pre-med/pre-health volunteers who could help direct patients to different stations, fill out health screening forms, and possibly help with the Move-to-Health station run by the health department. During the screening medical students will be measuring BMI, blood pressure, and HbA1c. Medical students will also provide mental health screening and health guidance based on each person's results.
