PHEs are a diverse group of 45 students who are trained to educate their peers on a variety of health topics including sexual health, alcohol and drugs, mental wellness, and nutrition. In addition to providing outreach presentations to a variety of organizations on grounds, PHEs also have a weekly office hour at student health and help host a number of events such as the 4Y5K and Mental Wellness Screening Day.
Comprehensive training prepares the PHEs to provide confidential patient education sessions; facilitate dynamic outreach programs; encourage physical, mental, and spiritual health; create informative awareness events; and promote community support to create a healthy campus culture.
