UVA Children's Hospital Spring 2015 Internship

UVA Children's Hospital is a Children's Miracle Network (CMN) Hospital. The CMN program is administered by the UVA Children's Hospital Development team within the UVA Health Foundation. The Children's Miracle Network Intern will assist the CMN Porgram Coordinator with various events and campaigns throughout the spring semester. This part time opportunity will provide the intern with valuable experience in fundraising, event planning, and managing volunteers. 

This internship requires that candidates possess excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills. The candidate should also be proficient in Microsoft Office programs. 

Tasks
The responsibilities of the intern include, but are not limited to, the following activities: 

  • Accompany the CMN Program Coordinator to all event planning meetings (Radiothon, Dance Marathon, MadiTHON, etc.)
  • Assist in the planning and execution of the Walmart Kickoff and Corporate Partner Miracle Day
  • Prepare promotional materials for events (press releases, community events calendar, Facebook posts)
  • Attend and support local and corporate partner events as assigned
  • Assist in the coordination and stewardship of Miracle Families
  • Some local travel and weekend hours will be required; a valid driver's license is required.

Hours
The intern's hours will be flexible around his or her class schedule. Minimum of 8-10 hours per week required, plus any additional time to attend events or meetings that occur outside of traditional office hours.
