The Indian Health Service (IHS) strives to raise the physical, mental, social and spiritual health of American Indians and Alaska Natives through the hiring of qualified, dedicated health professionals to serve within Indian health communities.
The IHS Scholarship Program seeks qualified American Indian and Alaska Native students who have a passion for health care and the desire to become leaders within their communities. Candidates must demonstrate a desire to serve others, lead by example and promote quality standards of care during their training and eventually within an Indian health program.
