On Saturday, March 22, 2014,
the Office of Diversity in Educational Programs at Eastern Virginia
Medical School (EVMS) will host a campus visitation day for college and
graduate students interested in becoming physicians.
Students will gain firsthand information on
preparing for medical school, the admissions process and interviewing.
In addition, medical students will provide information on the MD program
at EVMS and life as medical students; residents
will share their transition and training experience; and physicians
will address the changing occurring in medicine, and the rewards and
challenges of practice. Special segments will focus on diversity and
healthcare equity and the do’s and don’ts of social
medical networking. Students will have the opportunity to interact and
ask questions throughout the day.
We appreciate your assistance in posting the
enclosed flyers and encouraging students seriously considering a career
in medicine to attend. Advisers are also strongly encouraged to attend.
Registration is free; however, students are responsible for their own transportation and lodging. Students can register here.
The registration deadline is March 15th.
Travel directions, a campus map and a listing of nearby hotels can also
be found on the website. See the website and flyer
