Worried about taking a bridge year?

Are you concerned that taking a bridge year will put you behind your fellow peers in various health professions schools? Here are some statistics on age of applicants to show you that you shouldn't worry:

- The average age of applicants for PA school in 2010 was 27 and the average age of 2010 matriculants was
26.
- The average age of PT applicants and first year PT students is 24.
- The average age of Veterinary applicants is 24.
- The average age of medical school applicants at matriculation is 24.
- The average age of entering dental students is 24.
- The average age for optometry applicants is 24 as well.
- For public health (SOPHAS), last year the average age of an applicant was 27 and the median was 25.
- The average age of podiatric medical applicants is 24.
- For pharmacy in 2011, the median age for applicants is 23, and the range for applicants is 18 - 76.
