Dermatology Clinical Assistant Position

I am a dermatologist in private practice in Charlottesville. My office is located on Pantops and I work with another dermatologist who just graduated from the Department of Dermatology at UVA, Dr. Bridget Bryer.

We are looking to hire a student who is considering taking a year off from their studies prior to enrollment in medical school. We are in need of a dermatology clinical assistant who would bring patients back from the waiting room, take an initial history of the medical problems to be discussed, generate prescriptions to be sent electronically, help with surgical procedures, and provide medical education regarding dermatological conditions and treatment. This individual does not have to have any dermatology or surgical knowledge at all. We will teach all that is needed. This is a paid position.

This position would be of great benefit to someone wanting or needing to take a year off from their studies. This would qualify as excellent experience for a medical school application.  After working with us for a year, the individual would be comfortable seeing live patients, taking succinct medical histories, assisting with surgical procedures, interfacing with electronic medical records, and well versed in dermatological diseases and treatments.

We will only be hiring one person for this position and be making our decision in the coming months. Interested applicants should contact me via my email address as soon as possible: brettkrasner@yahoo.com.

Thank you in advance for sharing this information with the members of your organization.

Sincerely,

Brett Krasner, M.D.
