We are looking for a Head Research Assistant to work on the Prenatal Education Video Study headed by Dr. Ann Kellams, Director of the Newborn Nursery. The study involves showing an intervention video to pregnant, WIC-eligible women in the Primary Care Center at UVA Hospital, in hopes of increasing duration and exclusivity of breastfeeding among this population. The study is the joint effort of the Dept. of Pediatrics and the Dept. of Public Health.
The Head RA should expect to work 25 hours a week for 1 year, beginning in June 2012, and will perform tasks of enrolling participants, performing follow-up phone calls, data entry, abstracting information from electronic medical records, managing a team of students, and running frequencies with our Access databases, The position is paid and has been filled this year by a pre-med on a gap year, who will now move on to medical school this fall.
