The American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine is pleased to announce AACOM’s 2012 Annual Meeting being held March 28-31, 2012 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel, Washington, DC. In conjunction with the Annual Meeting, we will be hosting our 2nd Health Professions Fair and Medical Career Workshops event on Saturday, March 31, 2012 from 12:30 – 4:30pm.
Information for Attendees
Open to all high school and college students, parents, pre-health advisors, school guidance counselors, administrators and others interested in learning more about health professions educational opportunities and careers. This is a great opportunity to meet a variety of admission officers from various health professions schools. A series of six workshops on various topics will be presented in 45 minute sessions in the Omni Shoreham Hotel.
Participants will learn:
- How to apply to medical school or other health professions education programs
- How to write a successful personal statement
- What current medical students have to say about their experiences
- Demonstrations on Osteopathic Manual Medicine (OMM)
- Much more that will help in preparing for a career in the health professions
Participants will meet one-on-one with a wide variety of health professions admission officers, current medical students and administrators who will be able to answer questions about their academic programs, summer offerings, financial aid and much more throughout the fair and workshops.
