VCU Summer Programs - 2/1 and 4/3 Application Deadlines

Summer Academic Enrichment Program: an intensive, six-week inter-professional academic enrichment program located at the VCU Health campus in Richmond. Designed to prepare 3rd and 4th year undergraduate and post-baccalaureate students to admission into health professional programs, SAEP provides an academically rigorous experience that simulates the first year of health professional school.

Students select a concentration from only one of four disciplines: Dentistry, Medicine, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy

Requirements for admission:

• Three complete years of college coursework including organic chemistry I and II (note: organic chemistry not required for PT track)
• Cumulative GPA of 2.75
• Two letters of reference
• SAT/ACT scores
• Official transcripts
• Strong interest in attending health professions school at VCU

Program Dates: May 23rd - June 30th, 2017
Application Deadline: February 1st, 2017

Allied Health Career Exploration: a two-week, non-residential summer program designed to expose 1st, 2nd, and 3rd years to the diverse professional programs available at the VCU School of Allied Health Professions.

• Experience hands-on and interactive activities within each of the 9 disciplines
• Participate in workshops to strengthen skills in interviewing, resume development, and personal statement writing
• Receive information to navigate the application process for a program in the School of Allied Health Professions
• Gain confidence in pursuing a health professions program

• Aging Studies
• Clinical Laboratory Sciences
• Health Administration
• Nurse Anesthesia
• Occupational Therapy
• Patient Counseling
• Physical Therapy
• Radiation Sciences
• Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling 

Requirements for admission to the program:

• Complete  online application
• Two letters of reference
• Official transcript
